Gateway Motel Picton

Kent & Marie Stevenson took over the management of the Gateway Motel in December 2012. The motel had and has a great reputation and they were keen on the challenge to carry this on.

Kent was born here in Picton and has lived over-seas for about 10 years however returned to Picton in 1998. The hunting, fishing and diving in the area was big draw card for him as he missed this lifestyle while he was away. His working back ground is construction and when he left the industry he had worked his way to a project management position specialising in building wineries. This entailed a huge amount of trust between his clients to ensure the jobs were completed on time, within budget and to an excellent standard. He enjoys hunting, fishing and diving along with his son and they take advantage of the area they live in as much as possible regarding this.

Marie also comes from Picton and had a back ground in the shell fish industry. She enjoys travelling and hiking the local tracks as well as shopping, she has become an expert in local wine tasting . They have two children, their son Hunter and their daughter Kennedy. Both children are at the local college and will go on to university over the next 2-3 years. Kennedy is a great little netballer and academic. Hunter is keen on hunting and diving and has been very successful at this.

Discover the wineries with a local wine tour, or we can provide a map for you to do it yourself. You can walk one of the local tracks minutes from our door or sit on the foreshore reading a book while looking out at the Picton harbour. Local cafes and restaurants surround our motel with a diverse range of food to choose from. We are nestled among quaint shops, galleries and museums.
